What Isekai: Waifu Overlord is

The setup, as the Steam store page tells it: you are a successful businessman whom “the Goddess” has picked to restore an abandoned village in another world. The store text adds, in brackets, that nobody asked him first. From then on you are her “apostle” — Nutaku's news posts address players as Apostles — and the job is to get the local economy moving, hire staff and find out what is threatening this world.

The primary sources label the genre in three ways. The Steam short description calls it an “NSFW idle game” about building up a country of your own. The Steam announcement of October 13, 2025 calls it a management sim. Nutaku's launch post says “NSFW idle RPG”. Steam files it under Adventure, Casual, RPG, Simulation and Free To Play, as a single-player game whose requirements include an internet connection.

What none of those texts contains is a number. No primary source says how many buildings, characters or pets the game has, and the Goddess is never given a name. We could not trace the figures other sites print, so we leave them out.

The systems in brief

The Steam store text is built around five systems. We describe them only as far as the store page and the publisher's posts go.

• Village and buildings. You put up buildings and upgrade them. The store text leaves the direction to you: a resort, an industrial capital, or a training ground for adventurers.
• Workers, walks and dates. You hire female fantasy characters as workers. Walks are how you get to know them; further along, the store text speaks of dates with animated scenes.
• The party and “the Expedition”. You assemble, equip and train a party, and the party then fights on its own. Nutaku's launch post names the mode “the Expedition” and counts it in levels — the launch race asked players to clear 150 of them within 72 hours.
• Pets. Creatures are collected and trained, and their skills level up.
• Skills. The Goddess rewards your achievements with upgrades to the player character, such as working faster.

Around these sit the resources that posts mention. Publisher posts from April 2026 confirm Summon Tickets, Gems and an in-game bank, and a Battle Pass, “Vendetta”, was announced on Nutaku for September 14 to October 11, 2026. Summon rates and rarity tiers are not described in any primary source. The longer walk-through, source by source, is on the gameplay page.

Content level and who it is for

Steam marks the game “Adult Only”: the store page opens only after you agree to continue. The developer's content note on that page lists crude language, sexual content, BDSM and nudity, and goes on to name sexual acts, public sex, group sex, role play and costumes. The same note states that every character is over 18 and consenting.

So this is a game for adults who like an idle management loop with a dating layer on top, and who are fine with explicit scenes as part of it — as the store describes it, dates come with animated scenes. It is not for anyone under 18, and not for a screen other people can see. Steam lists 10 interface and subtitle languages and full audio for none of them.

Is it really free?

To start, yes. Steam flags it Free To Play and shows no price, no packages and no DLC. The same listing ticks the In-App Purchases category, and Nutaku's listing, priced at 0 USD, carries the note that free games may include in-game purchases.

What exactly is sold is not published on Steam: before release there is no item list and no price list. What we can confirm is that Gems, Summon Tickets and a Battle Pass exist, because publisher and Nutaku posts mention them. The current pass runs on Nutaku until October 11, 2026. Its announcement names the main reward, a Legendary character, but no price, and does not say whether the pass will also run on Steam.

That is why this almanac publishes no spending advice: without published prices or summon rates, any “what to buy” list would be guesswork. What did cost nothing: two account-wide gifts in April 2026, 20 Summon Tickets and 200 Gems, neither of which needed a code. The code situation is tracked on the promo-codes page.
